Start Case/End Case
When enabled, the monitor shows a key labeled START CASE or END CASE along the
bottom of the monitor's display (refer to Figure 5-1 on page 5-2). The key will
change to the opposite state when touched and confirmed.
To start a case
1 Touch START CASE to start a patient case.
The dialog box Is this a new patient? opens.
Note:
If you accidentally touch START CASE, you can touch Home to clear the dialog
box.
2 Either:
• Touch YES to clear all patient data and start a new case.
Depending on your setup, the Admit window can show.
• Touch
NO
to retain the current patient data and resume the
case.
To end a case
1 Touch the END CASE key.
The End Case? confirmation dialog box shows.
2 Touch END CASE in the End Case? dialog box to return to the monitoring
window.
The END CASE button changes to the START CASE button.
Caution:
- When a case is ended, alarm tones are automatically turned OFF , but
visual alarm indicators are shown. Remote alarm notification is
prevented.
- The START CASE button and messages continue to show until a new
case is started, using the START CASE button.
