5. OPERATIONS
5.1 IMPORTANT PRECAUTIONS FOR USE
The rotary pump must be cleaned and sanitized before being used, following
instructions given in the WASHING AND SANITIZATION chapter.
ATTENTION !
•
the pump must not be dry- operated
•
do not pump liquids containing abrasive substances
•
do not use brushes or wirewool to clean the stainless steel surfaces
•
do not leave sanitizing solutions on the stainless steel surfaces for a
long time.
5.2 COMMISSIONING
ATTENTION !
SOREN rotary pumps are delivered with lubricating oil in the gear case.
Check the level and if necessary add the kind of oil indicated in the
MAINTENANCE chapter.
ATTENTION !
Make sure that service temperatures are compatible with assembled rotors.
See 2.4.
•
check rotation direction, using the arrow marked on the joint shielding as
reference.
If there is no arrow, disassemble the front cover of the pump and turn
the rotors a few degrees: the product will be discharged on the side
where the lobes are nearest to each other.
5.3 START UP
•
switch on the feed line and wait for the product to reach the suction
coupling.
•
Open delivery line

Start up pump
