3.8 DANGERS FROM ELECTRICITY
DANGER !
The rotary pump is driven by an electric ratio-motor/gear motor and could
have various electric and electronic controls and devices. This could mean
serious danger of electric shock, causing serious injuries even death.
To reduce risk to a minimum:
•
Before you do any work on the rotary pump, disconnect the voltage from the
power supply, open the main switch and set the interlock device to “open”.
•
Any control or maintenance operations on the rotary pump electric/electronic
equipment must be done by trained and authorized electricians only.
•
Always act as if the equipment was switched on. This precaution will help to
avoid accidents or injuries.
•
Make sure the circuit is working, using appropriate testing instruments.
•
There are circumstances where faults must be detected while the equipment
is working, use every precaution in these cases, as specified here below:
- make sure your body and tooling are clear from the ground;
- use even more precautions in damp areas;
- concentrate on your work and do not get distracted.
•
Make sure that nobody is in contact with the rotary pump before you switch
on the power.
3.9 MECHANICAL DANGERS
DANGER !
The rotary pump is coupled to a ratio-motor/gear motor by a shielded joint
with a safety guard. As it is anyhow necessary to remove the safety guard for
maintenance work and cleaning, it is essential to follow the precautions
provided below.
To reduce risk to a minimum:
•
Service or maintenance operations should be assigned to authorized and
qualified mechanics only.
•
Always use the locking devices (of which only the person assigned to the
work has the key) to cut off the electricity supply before doing one of the
following operations:
•
Remove coupling joint safety guard

do any maintenance work or servicing on electric motor
-
do any maintenance work or control
-
do cleaning operations by hand
