6. Turn the Control Panel Subassembly over and install the new trackball retaining
ring. With your fingers, press and turn the ring slightly clockwise until it locks in
place (Figure 7.15).

7. Turn the Control Panel Subassembly over and secure the trackball wire harness
to the Control Panel Subassembly.
8. Place the Control Panel Subassembly onto the display LCD.
9. Install the display wire harness and the two 40-pin flex circuits (Figure 7.16).
10. Replace the 100-pin flex circuit on the bottom module.

11. Carefully replace the Control Panel Subassembly by inserting the tabs on the top
of the Control Panel Subassembly into the slots.
