7.5 Storage
On completion of all procedures in the previous section the instrument can be placed in storage as
described below. See
Table 7–1 "Storage Conditions"
for the recommended storage conditions.
1. Store the instrument in its transit case.
2. Equipment must be kept in a dry, non-condensing atmosphere (20% to 80% humidity), free from
corrosive agents and isolated from sources of vibration.
3. The packaging should be stored on solid, level and damp proof floors. It must not be stored
directly on damp or dirt floors or areas prone to flooding. In this case suitable shelving raised off
the floor should be used.
4. It is recommended to visually inspect the equipment at least annually.
5. When equipment is taken from low temperature storage for immediate use its temperature
should be raised to normal operating temperature before use.

To prolong the life of the batteries it is not recommended to exceed a storage temperature range of
0 to 30°C.
Transponders without a battery disconnect fob should have their battery internally disconnected
for transportation and storage (of more than one month) as described in
Section 7 – Retrieval and Storage
