information are for example: the name of the radio station, program type ... depending on the device and radio
station. In addition to display text information generally extra services are available as well. These are:

 PS

– program service: briefly displays the station name. It’s constantly working with RDS as a standard feature.

 AF

 – alternative frequency: if the listened programme can be reached in higher quality on another frequency, the

device will switch channels automatically. This is useful for trips, because after leaving the reception area of the
same broadcasting station the device will be looking for better quality reception.

 TP

– radio stations which are displaying TP sign are regularly providing road information. This option keeps

running during RDS function is switched on.

 TA

 – active TA function permits traffic and road information to be communicated. In case of notice,

TRAFFIC

 sign

is displayed. When listening to music on an external source, it will stop during the notice, than it will continue.

 PTY

 – program type: identifies predetermined radio stations. It is possible to search for radio stations with special

contents e.g. news, classical music, pop music…

 EON

 – the device continuously monitors other networks for traffic information.

SWITCHING ON AND OFF FM RDS FUNCTIONS

The PS, TP and EON services are always working when the radio station provides this. Any other RDS functions can be
switched on and off individually. The currently active functions can be checked at the upper icon row of the display.
Using

MENU

button: select the function to be modified, then set it with the rotating knob as desired.

AF ON/OFF

: searching alternative frequencies, on/off

TA ON/OFF

: traffic information, on/off

PTY OFF / MUSIC-SPEECH

: switching on searching for programme type, musical or textual programmes (you can

select concrete musical or textual programmes with 1…6 buttons)

BEEP ON/OFF

: audio feedback when using the buttons, on/off

• The machine starts to search for selected PTY programme types automatically. If it can reach any programme

corresponding to the selected setting, the machine will switch the channel.

• NO PTY: no available programme type information
• Occasionally, you may find that certain characters appear incorrectly or not at all. This is mainly affected by special or

accented characters and not the fault of the device.

PLAYBACK FROM USB/SD/ STORAGE

If you wish to listen to music from a USB/SD source instead of listening to the radio, simply connect the external
storage. The unit will detect this and start playback automatically. USB or SD denomination will be visible
on the display for a few seconds. In case the MP3 file contains text information, than the unit will display
them as well.

„ID3 TAG” MP3 TEXT INFORMATION

Beside the elapsed time of track, the number of track, the total number of tracks and name of including folder,
related information of track will be displayed, if they had been recorded, when the MP3 file was created. You can
select information to be checked with

DISP

 button.

•

The display takes place simultaneously with eight characters and automatically alternates. The text information
generally includes the following:

songs number, the elapsed time of song, the actual folder name, the file

type, the song title, the album title, the artist’s name

.

•

Labels will appear only, when the MP3 file contains such ones. These kind of text information can be associated with
given tracks, while the MP3 file is created. If the file doesn’t have such accompanying information, or not all displayable
data is recorded, then they won’t appear on the display.

• Occasionally, you may find that certain characters appear incorrectly or not at all. This is mainly affected on the

special or accented characters and not the fault of the device.  ID3 Tag function may be affected by the MP3 file creator
programme and its settings. If different tracks were created by different compressing programmes and have different
settings, then displayable text information may differ by tracks. Unique features of external storage may cause
irregular operation, which doesn’t indicate fault!

• Pay attention to the storage device, extending from the device not to disturb you in safe driving, and do not shove or

break it! It is recommended to use SD card preferably, since it can be used more safely.
