Figure 35. Adjusting PV panel angle
The PV arrays should be positioned for maximum daily sun exposure while maintaining a
distance of 30 feet or less from the Power Hub 2400. PV array performance can be improved
by adjusting the tilt and angle of the panels seasonally. The angle of the PV arrays, relative to
the sun, can be adjusted using the five (5) adjusting levers on the back of the PV array stand.
The location of the levers is highlighted on the schematic below, and a picture of the levers is
in the callout photo. The PV arrays can also be laid flat on the ground, which may prove useful
in some situations.
• Flip the levers down for 45° angle.
• Flip the levers up for 30° angle.
• Lay the arrays flat on the ground for 0° angle.

Shading
The PAMs must be positioned
so that no part of any panel is
shaded. Because the panels
are wired in series, if a single
panel drops out of the circuit
due to shading, the entire array
(four panels) will stop producing
power.
There are six (6) PAMs, each with its
own 30’ Solar Leash. The setup location
should have good exposure to sunlight
and be away from other structures
or potential hazards such as moving-
vehicle thoroughfares.
