FUEL AND OIL
Recommended Fuel
NOTICE
This vehicle has no oil
pump, oil must be mixed with fuel.
Refer to
RECOMMENDED OIL
for
proper fuel/oil ratio.
Use premium unleaded gasoline avail-
able from most service stations or oxy-
genated fuel containing a maximum to-
tal of 10% of ethanol or methanol. The
gasoline used must have the following
recommended minimum octane rat-
ing.
NOTE:
When the vehicle is used in rac-
ing condition, the use of oxygenated
fuel is prohibited. Contact racing au-
thority for more details.

NOTICE
Never experiment with
other fuels or fuel ratios. The use of
not recommended fuel can result in
snowmobile performance deterio-
ration and damage to critical parts in
the fuel system and engine compo-
nents.
Fuel System Antifreeze
When using oxygenated fuel, addi-
tional gas line antifreeze or water ab-
sorbing additives are not required and
should be not used.
When using non-oxygenated fuel, we
highly recommend the use of isopropyl
base gas line antifreeze in a proportion
of 150 ml (5 U.S. oz) of gas line an-
tifreeze added to 40 L (10 U.S. gal.) of
gas.
This precaution is in order to reduce the
risk of frost buildup in carburetors or
other fuel system components which
may lead, in certain cases, to high fuel
consumption or severe damage to en-
gine.
NOTE:
Use only methyl hydrate free
gas line antifreeze. When the vehicle
is used in racing condition, verify with
the racing authority to know which
quantity of gas line antifreeze is al-
lowed to avoid disqualification.
Fueling Procedure
Unscrew fuel tank cap to fill up tank,
then fully tighten.
WARNING
Always stop the engine before re-
fueling. Fuel is flammable and ex-
plosive under certain conditions.
Always work in a well ventilated
area. Do not smoke or allow open
flames or sparks in the vicinity.
Open cap slowly. If a differen-
tial pressure condition is noticed
(whistling sound heard when loos-
ening fuel tank cap) have vehicle
inspected and/or repaired before
further operation. Do not overfill
or top off the fuel tank before plac-
ing the vehicle in a warm area. As
temperature increases, fuel ex-
pands and might overflow. Al-
ways wipe off any fuel spillage
from the vehicle. Periodically ver-
ify fuel system.
NOTE:
Do not sit or lean on seat when
fuel tank cap is not properly installed.
Recommended Oil
This vehicle has no oil pump, oil must
be mixed with fuel at the ratio of
33:1
in a jerry can then, be poured in the fuel
tank.
Refer to
PREMIX FUEL/OIL RATIO
ta-
ble below as a guideline to properly
premix oil with fuel.
