9.1 Recommissioning after an extended non-operational period
Check the inside of the sensor box for condensation before recommissioning the system after a
longer non-operational period of the machine. Carefully ensure that the sensor box is dry before
recommissioning.
9.2 Updating, backing up and restoring software components on the
IPC
When required, all software component updates for the IPC (e.g. security-relevant updates) are
available via the Siemens Industry Online Support (
https://www.lda-portal.siemens.com/
siemlda/en/17013 ) (SIOS). In SIOS, navigate to "Home > Product Support > Drive Technology >
Motors > Digital Components".
To install software components on the IPC, follow the instructions provided in Chapter
Activating/deactivating the service mode (Page 42).
Backup copies of drives
Before carrying out maintenance work for the IPC, create a backup copy of the data storage
medium.
Inserting the connection key after replacing the software image
The following list shows the various application scenarios, and the corresponding measures to
insert the connection key:
• Restoring the software image with your own backup copy, which was created before
commissioning the connectivity module:
Follow the instructions in Chapter Inserting the connection key on the IPC (Page 37).
• Restoring the software image with your own backup copy, which was created after
commissioning the connectivity module:
It is not necessary to reinsert the connection key
