Installation of Add-on distribution package
The NK8237 software for the IEC 60870-5-104 host support is distributed as an
add-on package, to be installed on the stations including the Composer tool (client-
only and FEP stations are therefore excluded) after the standard Composer Setup.
The package is named MM8000 MP4.81 - Addon N.10 (IEC GW - V.1.01) - CD
and is made up by an installation kit of a few files.
Installation kit
The installation kit includes:

Custom Folders: contains a NK8237 IEC default project. During the add-on
installation, the Project is copied to <
install directory
>\DMS8000\Sample
Projects.
⚫
New ST: contains the new Composer Subsystem Too for the IEC Master
station.
⚫
NK8237 Firmware: contains the firmware for the NK8237 units, such as, the
DLL module supporting the IEC protocol.

Installing the Add-on module
The following describes the installation procedure for the add-on module.
8.3.1.1
Installation
A specific application

the AddOns Manager
–
allows installing and updating the
add-on modules.
The following are the installation procedures for the add-on module.
1. Start the AddOns Manager.
- From the Windows Start menu, select the following:
Start > DMS8000 > Tools > AddOns Manager
The Add-on Manager window appears.
2. In the list of MM8000 Add-Ons/Name, select the name of the module you wish
to install

(if the name of the add-on is not in the list on the screen):
click Browse, locate the installation files of the add-on module, and select the
text file (MM8000 - Extension Product Name.txt) in the root folder.
3. Click Install (or Update if a previous version was detected).
