This VCR/DVD is capable of recording
sound from a Hi-Fi system. The
recording will be performed
automatically. NICAM STEREO broad-
casts are recorded in its original sound
system regardless of the setting. If you
wish to record NICAM programmes,
select NICAM “AUTOMATIC” at “NICAM”
-
setting on page 25.
The VCR/DVD can also receive and
record German A2 stereo program. The
tape recording is always both in HiFi and
in MONO on the standard longitudinal
track. If you record bilingual TV
programs, the two audio channels will
always be recorded (only for tape or
DVD-RW VR recording).

Output selection for DVD
You can only switch between the left or right channel and

recorded in DVD-RW VR mode. It is not possible to switch
between channels as only the channel selected in the setting
of NICAM (AUTOMATIC or OFF) is recorded in DVD-RW or
DVD-R Video mode (see page 25).
NOTE:
The sound indications of STEREO/BILINGUAL/etc. are dis-
played automatically for about 4 seconds on the TV screen in the
VCR mode. In the DVD mode they cannot be displayed, so
please press
DISPLAY
to check the sound indications.
