5. Tighten the locking screws by working round several times from one crew to the next
(not diagonally). See table for tightening torques.

1. Unscrew the locking screws evenly one after the other. To avoid tilting and jamming
of the locking collars, each locking screw may only be unscrewed by about one quar-
ter turn in the initial cycle. Do not fully unscrew the locking screws!
2. Remove the shaft or pull the hub off the shaft (it is necessary to remove any rust
which may have formed between the hub and the end of the shaft).

Cleaning and
lubricating the
shrink disc
There is no need to take apart and re-grease disassembled shrink discs before they are
screwed back on.
The shrink disc only needs to be cleaned and re-greased if it is contaminated.
Use one of the following solid lubricants for the tapered surfaces.
Grease the locking screws with a multipurpose grease such as Molykote BR 2 or similar.
