If an external switch is to be connected to ground, an external pullup resistor of less than 10k is required
between the pin to which the switch is connected and system power. Power to the pullup can also be
provided using the internally generated switched power on pin 3. When the switch is open , the external
pullup drives the pin high. When the switch is closed, the pin is grounded. Connection to an external
switch that is connected to ground is shown below.
