Exterior Equipment
Press and hold the SUNSHADE IN switch to re-
tract the sunshade. Limit switches in the electric
actuators that extend and retract the sunshade
will automatically stop the actuators when the
sunshade reaches the fully extended or retracted
positions.
Hardtop Access Hatch and Ladder
A ladder above the leaning post station and a slid-
ing access hatch in the hardtop provides access to
outside accessories and antennas mounted to the
top or to an optional upper helm station.
To open the hatch, push forward on the center of
the spring loaded latch release and handle across
the rear of the hatch. The latches on each side
of the hatch will release and the hatch will slide
forward as the handle is pushed. The hatch will
automatically lock in the vent or full open posi-
tion when the handle is released and the latches
align with notches in the slide track. To close the
hatch, pull and hold the handle down and slide the
hatch to the closed position. Release the handle
to automatically secure the hatch. Always secure
the hatch in the closed position when people are
in the upper station.
WARNING
ACCIDENTALLY STEPPING INTO THE HARDTOP/UPPER
STATION ACCESS HATCH OPENING CAN CAUSE SEVERE
INJURY TO THE OPERATOR OR CREW. ALWAYS MAKE SURE
THE ACCESS HATCH IS CLOSED AND LATCHED WHENEVER
PEOPLE ARE IN THE UPPER STATION.
11.8 Aftermarket Hardtop or Tower
Scout does not recommend installing an after mar-
ket hardtop or tower. An improperly designed or
installed fabrication can cause structural damage
to the deck structure and void the Limited War-
ranty. Additionally, Scout will not be responsible
for any damage resulting from the installation of
a fabrication not installed at the Scout factory.
If you intend to install an aftermarket hardtop,
upper helm station or tower on your boat, please
contact your dealer or Scout Customer Service.
