18.2
Intended use
The routing and drilling device in conjunction with the router used is intended exclusively for pro-
cessing wood and materials similar to wood.
This also includes all wood-based panel materials, e.g. chipboard, OSB panels, MDF, laminated wood
panels, etc., even if they are coated with plastic or have plastic edges.
Only workpieces that can be safely placed, positioned and sufficiently securely fastened should be
processed.
Intended use also includes unrestricted compliance with the requirements contained in the operating
instructions for the routers used. In particular, the information on the limits of the processing tools
that can be used with regard to type and dimensions must be observed. The router bits used must
be suitable for manual feed. They are therefore marked with MAN.
The routing and drilling device must not be modified. In particular, the limit stops for the travels
must not be removed.
Always use parts and original accessories from the manufacturer. This also applies to the scraper
brushes used.
The intended use also includes the connection of the router used to a sufficiently effective extraction
system.
Any other use of the routing and drilling device and the use of non-manufacturer spare
parts is considered improper and is prohibited. The operator alone is liable for all dam-
age caused by improper use. Claims of any kind against the manufacturer or his au-
thorised representatives for damage resulting from improper use are excluded.
18.3
Foreseeable misuse
Assemble the routing and drilling device as described in this manual. This is the only way to ensure
that the intended functions can be carried out safely.
Only use routers that are listed in this user manual. For the use of other routers, please contact your
service dealer or
sauter GmbH
. The use of other routers is only permitted after written approval
has been obtained from your service dealer or
sauter GmbH
.
To use the router with the routing and drilling device, the router must be screwed to the matching
adapter plate. The adapter plate must lie flat against the router sole. The corresponding fastening
screws supplied must be used for this purpose. The number of fastening screws is fixed. All fas-
tening screws must be used.
Only machine wood and materials similar to wood with the routing and drilling device. Materials with
other cutting properties must not be machined. They can lead to serious injuries and damage.
Only use bits whose shank diameter corresponds to the collet diameter of the router. Keep bit and
the collet clean. Do not loosen the union nut from the collet.
Only use router bits marked with MAN.
Only process workpieces when they are resting securely on the worktable / hole matrix board and
are fastened if necessary.
Set up the routing and drilling device so that the dust and chip catching brushes have the smallest
possible distance to the workpiece surface. This will achieve the greatest extraction effect.
