Introduction
1-1
Digital Video Recorder SHR-4040 applies the MPEG-4 video image compression
method to each channel and the ADPCM compression method for video data and
audio data respectively, which are captured by 4 cameras. It records both data in the
built-in HDD real-time and transmits such data out through the network or it can con-
trol them remotely.
❉
DVR means the device recording both video and audio data with hard disks(HDD)
that takes the place of the conventional video cassette recorder(VCR) using video
tapes. DVR is very convenient to not only replay or search recorded data but also
edit and transmit them as they are modulated in digital signal to be recorded.
DVR compresses, saves, and transmits video screen according to the video and
audio compression protocol, searches recorded data by the time, date, camera, and
event, monitors the data remotely, and backs up or controls the camera.
