Since the the printer does not have a Front Panel like a traditional PCL Printer, the
PCL Emulation Front Panel Application gives you functionality similar to a true
front panel. This functionality is necessary to provide the ability to change the PCL
settings for print jobs that cannot change the PCL settings.
The following list provides a review of the settings available on the PCL Front
Panel for the LaserJet series II. The following settings may be affected via PCL:
Multiple Copies:
set the number of copies to print
Default Font:
set Font, Symbol Set, and Character/Inch (Point Size).
Orientation:
set portrait and landscape.
Paper Settings:
set Paper Size, Lines/Page, and Source
Test Page:
provides you with a means of determining that the
printer and PCL are working properly.
Font Page:
provides a printout of all fonts supported by
PCL.
This includes downloaded fonts.
Factory Default:
provides the equivalent of the PCL Menu Reset
option on a LaserJet series II printer Front Panel.
All user-selectable settings in PCL are returned to
factory defaults.
Form Feed and Auto
timer for a user-selectable kick page.
Form-Feed:
Auto Continue:
tells the printer to automatically print the
job, regardless of any error messages.
Port:
contains a list of ports connected to Microsoft
Windows Printing System host-based printers and
allows you to change the active printer from the PCL
Front Panel.
PCL Memory:
provides the means of selecting the amount of RAM
the PC should use for PCL emulation.
