Transporting the e-MTB by car
When you buy a bike rack for your car, make sure
that it complies with the safety standards in your
country, for example the GS mark.
In Germany bike racks must be approved in
accordance with section 22 of the road traffic
regulations.
Read the instruction manual that come with your
bike rack and do not exceed the maximum
permitted load or speed.
When transporting the ROTWILD e-MTB, find out
about the specific labelling requirements in your
country.
If you are sending your ROTWILD e-MTB by
courier, we recommend that you ask your
ROTWILD authorised dealer to partially
disassemble and pack the bike for you.
We recommend transporting ROTWILD e-MTBs
inside the vehicle.
WARNING
Transporting an unsecured or incorrectly
secured e-MTB.
An unsecured or incorrectly
secured e-MTB can become loose while being
transported and cause a serious accident. Check
the e-MTB before every journey and at regular
intervals during longer journeys to make sure
that it is correctly and firmly secured.
WARNING
Air in the brake system.
If an e-MTB with
hydraulic disc brakes is transported upside
down, air can get into the brake system and
the brakes may fail.
NOTICE
Racks where the bike is transported standing
on its handlebars and saddle must not be used,
because this can expose the components to
excessive stresses.
NOTICE
When transporting the e-MTB on a bike rack,
you must make sure that the down tube is not
clamped in place, because this can cause
damage to the drive battery inside the tube.
