Protected Operations Mode
To maintain the secure operation of your drive, operations that can disrupt
drive operation are restricted based on its operating mode.
This drive is in protected mode when: there are standard or safety I/O
connections, the drive is running.

Device Level Ring
It is recommended that no more than 50 nodes are on a single DLR. If your
application requires more than 50 nodes, it is recommended that the DLR
networks be segmented.
With smaller networks:
• There is better management of traffic on the network.
• The networks are easier to maintain.
• There is a lower likelihood of multiple faults.
