11.1 Se

uence of Operation
The control inside the heater's control compartment
is eq

ipped

ith a tri-color LED. The LED offers
comprehensi
v
e diagnostic capability. The LED
stat
u
s

ill be referenced thro

gho
u
t this section.
1. When the control is po
w
ered and there is no call
for heat from external heat demand de
v
ice, the
LED on the control flashes slo
w
green; LED is
ON for the same period it is OFF.
2. On a call for heat from the heat demand de
v
ice,
the heater
w
ill go to PRE-PURGE. The LED
indicates one green flash. The blo
w
er speed
w
ill
v
ary as the press
u
re s
w
itch setpoints are
v
erified. When the PRE-PURGE is s
u
ccessf
u
lly
completed, the heater
w
ill go into the
PRE-IGNITION state and po
w
er the hot s
u
rface
igniter (H.S.I.).
3. After the igniter
w
arms
u
p, the heater
w
ill go to
the IGNITION state. Po
w
er is s
u
pplied to the
gas
v
al
v
e operator, gas flo
w
s, ignites and the
flame is pro
v
en. The LED sho
w
s t
w
o green
flashes on the LED. If a flame is not sensed, the
heater
w
ill RETRY,

4. When the IGNITION state is completed, the
heater
w
ill go to WARM UP state. The
u
nit
w
ill
fire at maxim
u
m inp
u
t for 15 seconds. When the
WARM UP state is completed the de
v
ice
w
ill go
into RUN state. The control board
w
ill monitor
the heat demand de
v
ice and mod
u
late the
heater inp
u
t to meet the demand. The LED still
sho
w
s t
w
o green flashes.
5. When the call for heat has been satisfied, the
heater closes the gas
v
al
v
e. The blo
w
er
contin
u
es to r
u
n for a 45 second post-p
u
rge
period. After the post-p
u
rge, the heater t
u
rns
OFF and the LED on the control board flashes
slo
w
green.
6. If flame is lost at any time d
u
ring heater
operation, the heater
w
ill RETRY for ignition.
Upon RETRY the LED sho
w
s a fast yello

flash
(LED rapidly flashes). The heater
w
ill RETRY for
ignition three times. After fo

r ignition attempts,
the heater

ill locko

ntil reset.
