10.3 Central and Satellite Heaters (Zonin g Capability)
The heater can be config u red so that se v eral heaters
w ithin the same heating zone w ill mod u late
sim u ltaneo u sly w ith connection to a single heat
demand control de v ice. The heat demand control
de v ice ( See Page 46, Section 10.5 ) w ill be w ired
directly to a single heater config u red as the central
heater. The remaining heaters in the zone w ill be
config u red as satellite heaters and w ill mod u late
based on control signaling from the central heater.
Zoning capability allo
w s any CTH3-Series heater
(regardless of inp u t) to mod u late based on the signal
from the central heater. D u ring mod u lation, each
satellite heater w ill operate at the same percentage
of f u ll rated inp u t as the central heater.
10.3.1 Central Heater Confi g uration
Central heater config u ration is set by positioning of
j u mpers on pin blocks (J10 and J9) located on the
control inside the heater compartment, See Page 42,
Figure 22 . J u mper position on J10 sho w n in Figure
22 , w ill config u re heater as a central heater and at
the same time config u re the heater for the desired
heat demand de v ice (zone sensor, thermostat,
analog inp u t, or 10K Ohm pot.). If j u mpers on J10 are
positioned for "analog", j u mper on J9 m u st be
positioned for either 0-10 Vdc or 4-20 mA. If j u mpers
on J10 are not positioned for "analog", the J9 j u mper
may be left alone.
