A - General warnings
This booklet, along with the one for the installer and the Tech-
nical Assistance Service, are an integral part of the Residence
Condens IS n boiler and must therefore be kept in a safe
place. They must always be passed on with the boiler if it is
transferred to another owner/user or to another system. If they
are damaged or lost, another copy must be requested from
your local Technical Assistance Service.
The boiler must be installed by a qualified company in
accordance with the regulations in force.
The boiler must be used for the purpose envisaged by Riello,
for which it was expressly made.
No liability will be accepted, within or outside the contract, by
Riello for any harm to people, animals or property caused by
installation, adjustment or maintenance errors, or by improper
use.
In the event of a water leakage, shut off the water supply and
promptly contact the Technical Assistance Service or other pro-
fessionally qualified personnel.
Regularly check that the operating pressure of the hydraulic
system is comprised between 1 and 1.5 bar. If this is not the
case, charge the system as indicated in the specific chapter.
In the event of frequent drops in pressure, call the Technical
Assistance Service or other qualified professionals.
If the boiler is not used for a long time, the following operations
must be carried out:
- Turn the main switch of the appliance and the main switch of
the system to “off”
- Close the fuel and water taps of the heating system
- Drain the heating and domestic hot water circuits if there is
a risk of freezing.
The circulator anti-locking function is activated after 24 hours of
non-use, with the mode selector in any position.
For installation, it is advisable to contact specialised personnel.
At the end of its life, the product should be not be disposed of
as solid urban waste, but rather it should be handed over to a
differentiated waste collection centre.
B - Basic safety rules
Remember that the use of products requiring fuels, electricity and
water necessitates the respect of certain basic safety rules such as:
Children and non-assisted disabled people are not allowed to
use the Residence Condens IS n boiler.
It is forbidden to activate electric devices or appliances such as
switches, household appliances and so on if you notice a smell
of fuel or unburnt fuel.
In this case:
- Ventilate the room by opening the doors and windows
- Close the fuel shut-off device
- Promptly call the Technical Assistance Service or profession-
ally qualified personnel.
It is forbidden to touch the boiler while barefoot or if parts of
your body are wet.
It is forbidden to carry out any cleaning operations before dis-
connecting the boiler from the electricity supply; to do this, turn
the main system switch to “OFF”.
It is forbidden to pull, detach or twist the electric cables that
emerge from the boiler, even if the boiler itself is disconnected
from the mains supply.
It is forbidden to plug or reduce the size of any openings used
for airing the installation area.
It is forbidden to leave flammable containers and substances in
the room where the boiler is installed.
It is forbidden to place any objects on the boiler, as they could
be a source of danger.
It is forbidden to disconnect the boiler from the electricity sup-
ply and close the gas tap if there is a risk of the temperature
falling below zero, as the 1st level antifreeze system (protec-
tion up to -3°C) would be disabled.
It is forbidden to intervene on sealed elements.
It is forbidden to obstruct the condensate outlet.
C - Commissioning
The initial boiler start-up must be carried out by the Technical Assis-
tance Centre, after which the boiler will be able to operate automat-
ically.
Every time it is powered up, the boiler performs a sequence of checks,
and a series of numbers and letters will appear on the display.
After this phase the boiler carries out an automatic venting cycle last-
ing 12 minutes, during this period the two digits on the display come
on alternately.
If the check is terminated correctly, the boiler will be ready to operate
at the end of the cycle.
It may, however, be necessary to restart without involving the Techni-
cal Assistance Centre: for example after a lengthy period of absence.

In such cases, the following checks and operations must be carried
out:
- Make sure the fuel and water taps of the heating system and the
domestic water system are open.
- On the digital display, check that the pressure of the cold hydraulic
circuit is between 1 bar and 1.5 bar.
- Check the operating condition of the consumption water filtering
and/or treatment appliances.
- Set the system's master switch to the "on" position.
- Adjust the ambient thermostat to the required temperature (~ 20°C)
or, if the system is equipped with a timed thermostat, make sure it
is “active” and adjusted (~ 20°C).
- Move the domestic hot water temperature selector (1) to the de-
sired position.
- Move the heating system water temperature selector (2) to the de-
sired position.
SUMMER MODE: (with external storage cylinder connected) with the
selector in this position just the standard domestic hot water mode
is activated. The display alternately shows the domestic water tem-
perature (fig. 2)
WINTER MODE: with selector in this position, both the heating and
domestic hot water functions are activated. The display shows the
delivery temperature of the heating water (fig. 3) or the domestic hot
water (with external storage cylinder connected) (fig. 2), according to
the current request.
