Using the AF Target Shift Function
During macro shooting, the AF target shift function allows you to lock the focus
(P.33) by using the
!"#$
buttons on the camera without moving the
camera.
This is useful for macro shooting on a tripod with Focus Lock.
The AF target shift function allows you to shift the cross-mark at the center of the
screen to the subject you want the camera to focus on with the
!"#$
buttons.
1.
With the camera ready to shoot, press the
N
(Macro) button.
The Macro symbol appears at the top of the screen.
2.
Press the ADJ. button.
3.
Press the
#$
buttons until the AF
target shift function screen (cross-
mark shown in the figure) appears.
4.
Shift the cross-mark to the subject
you want the camera to focus on
with the
!"#$
buttons.
5.
Press the
C
/
D
button.
6.
Half-press the shutter release
button.
The camera focuses on the area at the
position of the cross-mark.
7.
Gently press the shutter release button all the way.
The AF target shift function automatically focuses the camera on the set
position until Macro Mode is canceled.
