Direct sending cannot operate when the capture
function is on during sending. Setting this switch to
"1" enables direct sending without capture. Setting
this switch to "0" masks the direct sending function
on the operation panel so it cannot be selected.

Action when the external
handset goes off-hook
0: Manual tx and rx operation
1: Memory tx and rx operation
(the display remains the
same)
0: Manual tx and rx are possible while the external
handset is off-hook. However, memory tx is not
possible.
1: The display stays in standby mode even when
the external handset is used, so that other people
can use the machine for memory tx operation.
Note that manual tx and rx are not possible with
this setting.
