IN THE Z AXIS IT IS IMPORTANT TO ENSURE THAT, WHEN SELECTING
A SOCKET CAPSCREW OR FIXED LOCATION INTO/AGAINST WHICH
THE PIN ASSEMBLY [9] CAN BE LOCATED, THE CHOSEN LOCATION
WILL TRAVEL IN THE Z DIRECTION WITH THE SPINDLE.
Notes...
The pin assembly is supplied with two different location pins [11] with
turned diameters at each end. Each diameter is of a different size, either
4mm, 5mm, 6mm or 8mm, to allow for location within four different sizes
of socket capscrew.
If the machine tool does not have a suitable socket capscrew into which
either of the location pins [11] can locate, the pin assembly may be
positioned against a fixed location on the machine tool. In instances
where there is no available location, or where an automatic tool changer
is to be used, refer to your nearest Renishaw company for assistance.

A.
Check to see if the machine tool has a suitable M4, M5, M6
or M8 socket capscrew into which either of the locating pins
[11] can be located.
Note...
The pin assembly [9] is supplied with the 4mm/5mm location pin
installed. If you need to substitute this for the 6mm/8mm location pin,
or if you need to turn the existing location pin around, take care that
the spring [12] does not fall out of the tube holder [13].
B.
If a suitable socket capscrew is found, assemble the
applicable location pin [11] into the tube holder [13] ensuring
the required diameter is uppermost. Secure location pin within
tube holder with the screwed cap [10].
