Service and maintenance
9.1
Safety
Service and maintenance work involves additional hazards that do not occur dur-
ing normal operation of the machine.
Take particular care when carrying out maintenance and repair work. Work very
carefully and with awareness of danger.
Observe the following instructions in particular:
Welding and work on the electrical and hydraulic systems may only be carried
out by qualified technicians.
When working on the raised single-disc spreader, there is a risk of it
tipping
.
Always secure the spreader with suitable supports.
On automatically moved parts (adjusting lever, metering slider) there is a
risk
of crushing and shearing.
Make sure that there is no one in close proximity
to the moving parts during maintenance.
Spare parts must at least comply with the technical standards specified by the
manufacturer. This is assured with genuineRAUCH spare parts.
Before starting with any cleaning, maintenance, or repair work, and when
troubleshooting, switch off the tractor's engine and wait until all rotating parts
of the machine have come to a stop.
Repairs should only be carried out by trained and authorised experts.

Wear-prone parts and bolted joints
9.2.1
Checking wear-prone parts
Wearing parts are:
Spreading vanes
,
agitator
,
hopper floor and thrust ring
.
Check the wearing parts.
If these parts show visible signs of wear, deformation or holes, they must be re-
placed, otherwise the scatter pattern will not be correct.
The durability of wearing parts depends in part on the material being spread.
NOTICE
Arrange for your dealer to carry out major servicing work.
