Spreading grit
Observe the following when spreading grit:
Use the RWK AX 160 agitator for spreading grit.
When spreading grit, a PTO speed of 450 rpm and a disc speed of 200 rpm
are adequate.
Disengage the PTO drive before transport trips.
Engage the PTO drive slowly at low tractor engine speed in order to prevent
damage to the agitator drive.
Disengage the drive to the spreader if the metering slider is closed – also for
short periods.
Open the metering slider until the agitator can discharge the grit in an unhin-
dered manner.
At temperatures below 0 °C, moist spreading material can freeze in the hop-
per and can damage the agitator when engaging the PTO drive. Therefore,
make sure that the spreader material cannot freeze in the hopper. Do not
leave the spreader outdoors overnight with a filled hopper. Keep the spread-
ing material dry.

WARNING
Risk of injury caused by spreading material.
Ejected spreading material can cause injury.
Do not spread if there are persons in the danger area.
NOTICE
When spreading grit-salt mixtures, bridges can be formed above the agitator. In
this case, reduce the proportion of salt or use dry spreading material.
