Sending a Break/Null
To get access to a certain commands, Sun Solaris servers require a null character (Break) to be sent from
the console to get to an
OK
prompt. This is the equivalent of issuing a STOP-A from the Sun keyboard.
Only users with Operator and Administrator privileges can send a “break”; users who are Observers cannot
send a “break.”
To send an intentional “break” to a Sun Solaris server:
1.
Verify that you have the Write Access. If not, please follow the instructions in the previous section to
obtain write access.
2.
Click on
Emulator
in the main menu.
3.
Select
Send Break
from the drop-down menu to send a null character to the target Sun Solaris server.
