Limit switch setting
5.2.6.1 Manual setting by on-board buttons
The module can be configured by using the two buttons on the board. This is only necessary if there
are changes to the cylinder, the installation situation or the area of application, or during repairs and
maintenance.
The two buttons basically have a fixed function.
Button S1 (situated towards the centre of the module) is used for switching to the next setting step,
Button S2 (situated on the outside of the module) is used to set a value.
Two settings can be made independently of one another:
1.
Setting the switch-off position for retracted state
2.
Setting the switch-off position for extended state
Setting manual:
To activate set-up mode, keep both buttons pressed simultaneously for more than 8 seconds.
All three LEDs then flash simultaneously to confirmation. Now both buttons must be released at the
same time. The yellow LED flashes, the other two are off.
Note:
In the delivery condition, the rotation, the activation of the external reference limit switch and the
switching points for EPS systems mounted on cylinders have already been set at the factory.
Set-up mode 1: Switch-off position in the retracted state
In this state (green LED flashes), the switch-off position in the retracted state can be set. This is only
necessary if an external reference switch is not used.
If new installation or module replacement is carried out, the retracted switch-off position
must always be approached first to provide a reference point for position measurement.
The cylinder must now be moved to the required retracted position and the outer button S2 pressed to
confirmation for at least 1 second. If switch-off values which lead to the drive switching off when re-
tracted are already present in the module, this can be bridged by keeping button S2 pressed for longer
than one second. This means that the cylinder can be retracted without limits.
Attention!
The mechanical end positions of the cylinder must not be approached in the setting mode, since the
possibility of blockage or damage is caused by a counter situation.
Press button S2 for longer than 1 second at the required position (if not already happend as described
above).
If you do not require any change to the switch-off position for "retracted state", the button S2 does
not
need to be pressed.
Now press button S1 for longer than 1 second. The mode then changes from set-up mode for switch-
off position for the retracted state to mode 2, switch-off position "extended state".
