LDAP/E-Directory
The
Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP)
is an
application protocol for querying and modifying data of directory
services implemented in Internet Protocol (IP) networks.
In MegaRAC GUI, LDAP is an Internet protocol that Mega-
RAC
®
card can use to authenticate users. If you have an LDAP
server configured on your network, you can use it as an easy
way to add, manage and authenticate MegaRAC
®
card users.
This is done by passing login requests to your LDAP Server.
This means that there is no need to define an additional authen-
tication mechanism, when using the MegaRAC card. Since
your existing LDAP Server keeps an authentication centralized,
you will always know who is accessing the network resources
and can easily define the user or group-based policies to con-
trol access.
