Remote Bluetooth Adapter
The Remote Bluetooth Adapter (RBA) is a special stripped down version of the Quadstick circuit
board that provides a wireless relay for data from a regular Quadstick to a CronusMax when a
USB cable from the Quadstick to the game console is unwanted. The RBA receives its power
from the CronusMax and the main Quadstick can be powered by a USB battery or other USB
power source.
The configuration file loaded into the RBA is
The Quadstick used with the RBA must have the following settings in its “prefs.csv” file:
bluetooth_device_mode
ssp
Bluetooth HID Device Selection
bluetooth_authentication_mode
0
Bluetooth Authentication Selection
bluetooth_connection_mode
auto
Bluetooth pairing control
bluetooth_remote_address
0006668CE2E7
Bluetooth Address of RBA
These settings can be more conveniently controlled in the Bluetooth section of the Misc tab in
the Quadstick Manager Program:
In this example, the RBA has the Bluetooth Address of 0006668CE2E7. Your RBA will differ.
The twelve digit Bluetooth Address of the RBA can be found printed on the back cover of the
RBA. The BTA address field only displays in QMP when the Connection mode is “auto”.
RBA LED behavior:
The LEDs on the RBA are used to convey the status of the device and the connection to the
Quadstick. During power-up, the LEDs flash in the following sequence:
1. All flashing purple, followed by individually lighting the Red and Blue LEDs
2. Red LED #5 when the USB connection is enabled and Red LEDs #2 & #4 when the
CronusMax responds.
3. Purple LED #1 when the RBA is ready to connect.
4. When a Bluetooth Connection is made with the Quadstick, the #4 Green LED on the
side will light to indicate the connection status.
5. When data is first received from the Quadstick, the #1 LED will change to Blue.
6. Green LED #3 will flash whenever data is received.
