Bluetooth
®
Setup
Bluetooth
is a global standard for wireless connectivity for digital devices and is intended
for Personal Area Networks (PAN). The technology is based on a short-range radio link that
operates in the ISM band at 2.4 GHz. When two
Bluetooth
-equipped devices come within a
10 metre range of each other, they can establish a connection. Because
Bluetooth
utilizes a
radio-based link, it does not require a line-of-sight connection in order to communicate.

In the
Control Panel
, choose the
Bluetooth
icon to display the
Bluetooth
Manager
screen.
The
Bluetooth
Manager
allows users to search, pair and connect to other
Bluetooth
devices
within their personal area network.
The
Bluetooth
radio is disabled by default. Before you begin the setup process:
•
Tap on the
Mode
tab, and tap in the checkbox next to
Turn on
Bluetooth
. Tap on
OK
.
When the radio is enabled, a
Bluetooth
icon appears the taskbar at the bottom of the screen.
It is ready for setup.

Paired Tab
This tab lists all paired devices and their corresponding services. The format of the name is
<Device Name>:<Service Name>. Additional information may appear in this screen such as
the Port Numbers for Serial Profiles service.
Note: The
Bluetooth
radio uses an internal antenna.
