Number Of Configured Hosts
The Hosts page of the Connectivity options shows the number of hosts configured on the
system. Up to six hosts can be supported.
Host Number
This parameter indicates the assigned host number. Choosing the Host Number from the
drop-down list displays the parameters that can be modified or deleted for that host. New
hosts can be added by selecting an unassigned number and configuring the parameters for it.
The host number also appears on the RF mobile computer when switching between hosts in
a multiple-host environment.
Status
The Status must be Enabled for mobile computers to communicate with this host.
Description
This textbox allows you to name the protocol used by the host. Protocols are the methods by
which mobile computers communicate with host computers over various physical media
such as Ethernet and radio-link connections.
When the 9160 G2 functions as a base station, it communicates with a
9010/ TCP/IP host
using a network connection. The 9010 protocol is a proprietary asynchronous protocol de-
veloped by Psion Teklogix which uses TESS (Teklogix Screen Subsystem) or ANSI data
streams to communicate with mobile computers. For detailed information, please refer to

First Terminal/Last Terminal
The values entered in these parameters designate the first and last terminals in the range of
mobile computers that will communicate with the host. These terminal numbers are mapped
to this particular host. Terminal numbers may range from
1 to 3840 .
To Restore Default Configuration
At the bottom of the Host menu page, you can click on Default to re-load the default config-
uration values for this host.
