2. In the
HTTP Update
page, provide the following details:
•
File Type:
Select the File Type that needs to be updated from the drop-down box. Choices include:

Config:
Configuration information, such as System name, contact name, and so on.
—
Image:
AP image (an executable program)

File Name:
Use the
Browse
button to select the file from the desired location. You can also manually type in the
name of the file to be downloaded. When you are typing the file name manually, ensure that you include the file
extension and the complete path of the file.
•
To initiate the HTTP Update operation, click
Update
.
NOTE:
An HTTP file transfer using SSL may take extra time.
Update Device Using TFTP
To update AP device using TFTP, a TFTP server must be running and configured to point to the directory containing the
file.
If you do not have a TFTP server installed on your system, install the TFTP server from the installation CD. You can either
install the TFTP server from the CD Wizard or run OEM-TFTP-Server.exe found in the CD’s Xtras/SolarWinds
sub-directory.
To update AP device using TFTP,
1. Navigate to
Management
>
File Management
>
Update Device
>
TFTP
. The
TFTP Update
page appears.

2. In the
TFTP Update
page, provide the following details:
•
Server IP Address
: Enter the TFTP server IP Address.
— Double-click the TFTP server icon on your desktop and locate the IP address assigned to the TFTP server.
NOTE:
This is the IP address that will be used to point the Access Point to the AP Image file.
•
File Name
: Enter the name of the file to be downloaded (including the file extension).
