Configuring the Device Using CLI Commands
The Command Line Interface (CLI) is divided into different command modes. Each command mode has its own set of
commands that manage the network operations. The commands that you use also depends on the mode that you are in.
User Name and Password Command
When you start a session, you are in
User Exec
mode with limited access to commands. To enter into the privileged
mode, provide your Username and Password along with the
enable
command.
Username: admin
Password: public
System Name>?
Possible completions:
disable Turn off privileged commands
enable Turn on privileged commands
exit Exit from EXEC
show Show
System Name>enable
System Name#?
Possible completions:
configure Enter configuration mode
disable Turn off privileged commands
enable Turn on privileged commands
exit Exit from EXEC
show Show
System Name#
NOTE:
The username and password are case-sensitive. If you enter wrong Password, then a message is displayed
stating that the password is incorrect.
When you enter “
show”
command at the CLI Command prompt, this will list the following features that you can configure
or view:
