Power does not come
on
Power cord(s) not
securely connected
Make sure the power cable is securely connected
to a wall outlet.
Power outlet is off or
not working
Try plugging a different device into the outlet
and see if it turns on. If not, check that the
outlet is on or use a different outlet.
Remote control not
functioning
Batteries inserted
improperly
Make sure the batteries are inserted and
oriented properly.
Batteries low on
energy
Replace the batteries.
A button is stuck
Jog any stuck buttons on the remote to unstick
them.
Obstacle between
remote and recorder
Remove the obstacle.
The remote is too far
from the recorder
Move closer to the recorder.
No picture
Incorrect video
format selected
Set Progressive/Interlace and Video Output
Format as appropriate in the Setup menu under
the General sub-menu. See “General” on
page 35.
No signal
Make sure the proper source is selected on the
external display. If there is still no picture, check
the signal cable(s) and ensure the recorder is on
and working.
Unclear or noisy
picture
Signal cable(s) not
securely connected
Make sure the signal cable(s) are firmly
connected.
Radio interference
Check for any electronic devices nearby that
might be interfering with the video signal or the
recorder’s operation.
Incorrect video
format selected
Set Progressive/Interlace and Video Output
Format as appropriate in the Setup menu under
the General sub-menu. See “General” on
page 35.
Poor television signal If you are using an antenna, move the antenna
to a position with better reception, or obtain
and use a more powerful antenna.
If the recorder is connected to a cable TV signal,
ensure the cable is connected securely.
Otherwise, contact your cable service provider.
