4.1 Rear panel types
There are 6 builds of TX500 rear panel available, which are specified at the ordering stage in
order to support the user’s requirements. Fundamentally, these allow for different numbers of
keyers, and the choice of balanced or unbalanced AES digital audio. Unbalanced AES
requires 75 Ohm BNC connections, and is used primarily in the northern American market,
balanced AES audio is connected using D type connectors. It Is noted that all these panel
types only support a single level of audio, if multi-level audio is required then additional rear
panels will be required according to the audio format, refer to Section XXX.
The six builds of TX 500 standard rear panel are as follows:
•
1447: maximum of 4 keyers, unbalanced AES
•
1446: maximum of 4 keyers, balanced AES
•
1445: maximum of 2 keyers, unbalanced AES
•
1444: maximum of 2 keyers, balanced AES
•
1443: no keyers, unbalanced AES
•
1442: no keyers, balanced AES
Additional rear panels for multi-level audio and DVE:
•
1438: 3 additional levels of balanced AES
•
1439: 3 additional levels of unbalanced AES
•
1440: 1 additional level of balanced AES
•
1441: 1 additional level of unbalanced AES
•
1449: for extracting 2 levels and re-embedding 4 levels of balanced AES
•
1471: for extracting 1 level and re-embedding 4 levels of unbalanced AES
•
K4425: for extracting 1 level of unbalanced AES, using 4425 module
•
1448: For internal DVE and Framestore
•
K3403: For internal Framestore
