2 Introduction

Signal Flow between the System Components
2.2.1
Principle
In the front-end, the high-frequency Doppler signal coming from the scanning
head is fed in the decoder. Here, the velocity information is extracted from the
signal. You can run the system either as a PSV-500-H or as a PSV-500-M. To
do so, when starting the software select the corresponding data acquisition
board:
Ethernet
for the operation as an H system or
PCI-6110
for the
operation as an M system.
Operation as an
H system
Synchronously to the decoder, analog reference signals are acquired and
generator signals are emitted in the front-end. The digital measurement data
is exchanged with the PC via an Ethernet interface. The signal flow in the
system is shown in the following figure.

Operation as an
M system
On the junction box, analog reference signals are connected and generator
signals are emitted. The measurement data is transmitted as analog signals
to the PC. The signal flow is shown in the following figure.
