Character Position 15 (Stop and Select Feed)
This character is used as a processing feature and when decoded, instructs the inserter to perform
different functions.This table details character 15 values and states the function for the different values.
Value Function
0 No Function – machine cycles with no additional function.
1 SF1 (Select Feeds an additional sheet from Sheet Feeder 2)
2 SF2 (Select Feeds an additional insert from the Insert Feeder)
3 SF1 + SF2 (Select Feeds additional sheet from Sheet Feeder 2 and an insert from the Insert Feeder)
4 Stop (Stops the machine once the mailpiece is completed and exited)
5 SF1 + Stop (Select Feeds an additional sheet from Sheet Feeder 2 and Stops the machine once the
mailpiece is completed and exited)
6 SF2 + Stop (Select Feeds Insert from Insert Feeder and stops the machine once the mailpiece is completed
and exited)
7 SF1 + SF2 + Stop (Select Feeds an additional Sheet from Sheet Feeder 2 and Insert from the Insert Feeder,
then stops the machine once the mailpiece is completed and exited)
Value and Function of Character 15
Character Position 16 (Page Numbering)
This character is used as a sequential count for sheets inserted into each envelope. The first sheet fed
will have a value of ‘1,’ the second sheet a value of ’2,’ the third ’3’, and so on, until the last sheet is fed.
When a new sheet set is presented to the barcode scanner (inserted into a different envelope) the
sequential count is restarted.
NOTE : Two characters cannot be shown to represent 10 sheets, so instead the letter 'A' is used, (i.e. ...
5, 6, 7, 8, 9, A).
