Welcome To Digital Television
Congratulations on choosing the Philips DSR 5600 digital satellite receiver. This receiver will allow you to access free-to-
view as well as scrambled digital satellite television, radio and interactive channels. The embedded MHP feature makes your
receiver compatible with the MHP interactive television applications that are carried on some of the channels.
Please note, however, that to view scrambled channels, you will need to buy a conditional access module and take a
subscription. The conditional access module is not supplied with your receiver. You will find more information on how to use
the conditional access module later in this manual.
Note: "Decoder" is used in all the menu screens. The term "decoder" also stands for "STB (Set Top Box)", "Receiver" or "Digital receiver". In
the user manual all descriptions refer to "receiver".
