5 Connection and Installation
5.1 Connections
5.1.1 Connect the satellite receiver to your TV and VCR.
1
Unplug all equipment (TV set as well as VCR and / or DVD if required) from the mains before making connections.
Note: Before starting to connect, check your current wiring because you can keep the coaxial connection in between your TV and your
video recorder provided they are connected as shown below. This connection ensures you can still watch and record your current
terrestrial channels if necessary.
2
Connect your receiver in your existing installation as shown above:
- Connect the supplied mains cord to the mains (230V 50 Hz) socket of your satellite receiver.
- Connect the TV set EXT1 to the TV SCART of your satellite receiver by means of the supplied SCART lead.
- If you have a VCR, connect the VCR EXT1 to the VCR SCART of your satellite receiver by means of a SCART lead.
- Connect the plug of the cable coming from your satellite antenna to the LNB IN socket of your satellite receiver.
3
Then plug all your appliances, including your satellite receiver, into the mains.
5.1.2 Connect your HiFi appliance
Connect the L/R (Left / Right) AUDIO OUT sockets of your satellite receiver to the relevant L/R audio analogue input
sockets of your HiFi equipment by means of a double CINCH cable (not supplied).
If applicable connect the Digital OPTICAL OUT socket of your satellite receiver to one of the optical Digital input socket
of your HiFi equipment by means of an appropriate cable (not supplied).
5.1.3 Connect your receiver to the telephone line (for future use)
Connect the RJ11/TELEPHONE LINE socket of your satellite receiver to the wall outlet telephone socket by means of the
supplied telephone cord.
Note: The equipment has been approved pursuant to Commission Decision 99/303/EC for pan-European
connection to the public switched telephone network (PSTN). However, due to differences between the
individual PSTNs provided for in different countries, the approval does not, of itself, give an unconditional assurance of successful operation
on every PSTN network termination point.
In the event of problems, you should contact your equipment supplier in the first instance.
