How and When to Carry Out the Test Blocks
The following table defines which test and inspection blocks need to be performed, and when they are
required.

Inspect the monitor, transducers and cables for any
damage.

Power On
Power on the monitor. Does it boot up successfully without
errors? After boot up the monitor sounds a tone, and can
you see the monitoring main screen.
If recorder power-on auto-start is configured to On, does
the recorder print

across the trace paper? (See
“Switching the Recorder On and Off ” on page 49 for
details.)

Functionality Test
FM20/30 with Battery Option #E25 Only
After power up, touch the battery status indicator in the
bottom right of the screen. The battery status window
should open. Check to see if there is an exclamation mark
flashing in the gauge. Press the
Main Screen
key to close
the window and return to the main screen.

Perform safety tests (1) to (4), as described in your
monitor's
Service Guide,
for standalone devices if required by
local regulations, and each time you combine equipment to
form a system, or exchange system components.
