Touch io Instruction Manual
●
Yes. The credential is tied to the life of each phone. To issue a credential to a new phone simply email
another invitation to the user of the new phone. See
Lost/Stolen/Replaced Smart Device
.
Is touch io cloud a cloud-based access control system?
●
No. The
touch io
reader has the same basic purpose and functionality of other readers with regards to
passing a user’s unique ID number to a system that controls access into an organization’s facilities. The
touch io
cloud only functions as a cloud-based credential distribution and management system and a
method to store credential inventory.
Is this reader compatible with other systems in the market or specific to only ProdataKey branded access
control panels?
●
The
touch io
reader and the Bluetooth functionality will only work with ProdataKey.
Can a user share their credentials with someone else?
●
No. After a user’s credentials are imported into the
touch App
, they cannot be shared with anyone. The
credentials are assigned to that user and can’t be imported to another device.
As a touch io administrator (anyone with an Integrator, Admin, or Manager permission role), what do I
need to do when someone leaves our company?
●
Removing a user is a two-step process: First and foremost, remove access rights for the user’s card
number from the access panel; Second, revoke the user’s
touch io
credentials.
●
If a person will be leaving temporarily and returning at a later date, you may
disable
that person in the
system which will keep and maintain their information for audit purposes.
When I tap on the ring of the touch io, nothing happens. I figured it’s a button and that’s what I’m
supposed to tap. What’s wrong?
●
The top portion of the reader, including the ring, does not have the electronics behind it that scans for
user taps. The active tap scan area is the rectangular front of the reader below the ring.
I routinely shut down apps manually because I was told that it makes the battery last longer. I noticed that
the touch App doesn’t work when I do that. Why is that?
●
If the
touch App
is manually shut down, it is no longer running and can’t process the
touch io
credential
validation that is triggered when the reader is tapped. It’s a misconception that shutting down apps
increases battery life. The
touch App
utilizes very little battery on the device; the app should be left
running at all times.
