4. CHAIN & BAR
Fitting the Guide Bar & Chain
1. Using supplied spanner remove the chain sprocket cover nut then remove
chain sprocket cover.
2. Place the chain in the groove of the
guide bar as shown. Refer to the
label on chain sprocket cover that
indicates the direction that the chain
should face.
WARNING!
ALWAYS WEAR GLOVES WHEN HANDLING THE CHAIN AS IT
IS VERY SHARP AND CAN CUT YOU WHEN IT IS NOT MOVING.

IF THE CHAIN IS INSTALLED BACKWARDS (CHAIN CUTTERS
ARE FACING IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION OF ROTATION) THE POLE
PRUNER WILL VIBRATE EXCESSIVELY AND NOT CUT.
3. Place the guide bar and chain onto
the mount, ensuring that the chain
tensioning pin (a) sits within the
lower hole on the bar.
4. Adjust the chain tensioning screw (b) with 3mm
hex key until the chain tension pin (a) fits into the
hole in the guide bar, whilst guiding the chain
around the sprocket.
