Operator's Guide

RIBBON TEARS

If the ribbon is torn or damaged, it must be replaced. To do this, refer to
Replacing the Ribbon, Page 40.

PRINT QUALITY PROBLEMS

Different types of poor print quality are listed below, along with possible
causes.

•

Light

worn ribbon

improper platen adjustment

worn printheads

•

Smudged

improper platen adjustment

worn forms compressor

overinked ribbon

•

Missing dots on a portion of every other line

failed printhead or driver electronics

•

Improper vertical alignment

Call customer service (Page 58) or refer to the Printer Installation
Guide that was shipped with the printer. This adjustment is called
flight time.
