LCD ERROR MESSAGES
The printer mechanism is constantly monitored by the software. If a
problem is encountered, a message is displayed.
The first line of the message gives the fault, the second line gives an
operator action. For example:
Ribbon Motor Err
Call Service
When any error message occurs, check the printer for an obvious cause.
If you cannot fix the problem, call customer service (Page 58).
COMMUNICATION PROBLEMS
Perform a printer self test according to Test Print, Page 54. If it prints:
•
Check the interface cable from the computer to make sure it is
connected and fully seated.
•
Check for a changed computer setup or printer driver that differs from
the installed parameters.
•
Cycle both the printer and the computer OFF/ON. This resets the
electronics in case something locked up.
•
Check that the printer emulation matches the comptuer emulation.
If problems persist, contact customer service (Page 58). Customer
service may request you perform a hex dump to aid troubleshooting. To
do this refer to Hex Dump, Page 55.
