40 Maintenance
REPLACING THE RIBBON
Caution: Genuine factory ribbon cartridges contain special
lubricants to extend the life of the printheads. Using
inferior ribbons may damage the printheads.
1. Position the head cartridge at the center of the mechanism.
2. Remove installed ribbon cartridge (see illustration below):
a. Loosen/lift each ribbon guide by grasping the tab on the top of
each guide.
b. Grasp both sides of the cartridge.
c. Tilt the cartridge up from the printheads, freeing ribbon guides
from their holders.
d. Lift the complete cartridge up and out.
