EMULATION/SETUPS
WHAT IS EMULATION?
Emulation is when one printer is set up to act like another. For example, if
the printer is set up for Epson emulation, it reacts to the host commands
as if it was an Epson printer.
Emulations are necessary for printers because of the wide range of
computer setups, computer programs, and printers currently available.
EMULATIONS AVAILABLE
The printer can emulate the following five printers, but only one at a time.
•
Epson FX 286e
•
IBM Proprinter XL
•
DEC
LA210
•
Printronix
6080
•
Dataproducts
LB615
The printer can be set up for one or more of these emulations using the
four SETUP keys. Each SETUP key can be assigned to different print
features such as characters per inch, lines per inch, form length, etc.
