AM MENU
Load Preset
The
Load Preset
menu displays the current and backup presets. It also contains controls for loading and deleting
presets and for sorting available presets by tags.
Which specific presets are available is dependent upon the list selected in the
Tags
menu. Tags are metadata key
words that are included in the
About Preset
menu (described in detail later) for each preset. These can include
groups like “All”, “Factory”, and “User”, or can describe the sonic characteristics of the preset by using terms like
“Open”, “Loud”, or “Obnoxious” (yes, that’s a real category).
Highlighting a preset and then selecting it (by moving the controller to the right) puts that preset on the air and
moves it up to the Current Preset position. The preset that was previously on the air will become the Backup Preset.
After changing any parameter of a preset, an (M) appears next to the Current Preset name and the text turns
yellow to indicate the preset has been modified but not yet saved. The Backup Preset also becomes the former (and
unmodified) Current Preset.
Changes to each parameter you adjusted to create the modified preset are also displayed in yellow on the specific
control button in each section of the processing core, providing an instant visual comparison between the modified
preset and the original preset upon which it is based.
Load a Preset
Factory presets specifically tuned for AM radio are provided and can be selected in the
AM > Load Preset > Load a
Preset
menu.
♦
Eruption5B
is suitable for general use, especially music. It employs a tight ratio on the Input AGC to
consistently drive the mutliband section which itself employs a fairly light ratio but faster release times to
keep the output and spectral balance consistent. It also makes use of Wideband AGC 2 in Bass Only mode
for enhanced low end.
♦
Fine Arts
is similar to the Classical/Jazz preset found in Omnia.9’s FM, HD, Streaming, and Studio
processing cores. As a three-band preset, it provides gentle spectral re-equalization and delivers an output
that is more faithful to the sound of the input than other presets.
