MONITOR OUTPUT MENU
♦
In most studios, the left and right speakers are likely to be equidistant from one another and typically
place the talent directly between them. However, in some situations, it may be advantageous to delay
either the right or left channel. The
Delay/Phase
menu contains the controls necessary to do so.
¸
The
Defeat Delay
control turns off the delay entirely to both channels.
¸
The
Delay All
control allows you to delay the audio output of the Speaker and Headphone outputs.
¸
The
Delay Left
and
Delay Right
controls provide a means by which to delay one channel independent-
ly of the other.
¸
The
Invert Left
and
Invert Right
controls let you swap the polarity of each channel. The ability to do so
in one channel or the other can be useful if you discover that one of the speakers has been wired out of
phase and it is not practical or convenient to physically switch the positive and negative wires. Being
able to do so to both channels simultaneously can come in handy if you are in a situation where both
channels have gotten out of phase at some point in the studio wiring.
